On the river...
The River Murray is dear to Australians and indeed, most important to them. This artery of water is essential for life in this drought-ridden country. An important source of water for cities and farms, it's also a beauty for the eye!
We are told that a houseboat trip on the river is a very popular holiday option.
Huge and I joined a group of other exchange teachers and their families to experience this part of South Australian culture. There were about twenty of us. Two boats and a long weekend make for a fine, relaxing mini-break.
We had excellent weather, great meals, and striking scenery.
Huge enjoyed the opportunity to pilot the craft and to practise his knots!
