Our Aussie Barbie

Huge has discovered the BBQ! Funny that it's taken us eight months.

Thanks to Shelagh for the Montreal Steak Spice!!!!

Gourmet Weekend in the Barossa

We have definitely loved the wine country just on our doorstep here! The Barossa is about an hour's drive away so it makes a great day trip. Especially on the last weekend of August when they have their Gourmet Weekend. Participating Vineyards team up with local restaurants and musical talent to celebrate the perfect marriage of taste and entertainment.

We ended up making the drive on both days since we fell for the band shown here. They played under these massive gum trees over two perfect sunny days. They are The Huckleberry Swedes. Sort of Australia's version of Blue Rodeo.

Winter is almost over!

I've been very slack in the last two months...no blog posts for a while. We figured you were all out enjoying the summertime, so we weren't too worried.

We have been feeling the summer creeping this way in the last couple of weeks. We thought we'd share one of our strategies for keeping warm in the evening here. Huge calls it my caterpillar look. (He has a MATCHING outfit!!!!!)

We're looking forward to emerging from these particular cocoons.

The first day of the journey...

Can you believe we drove 845 km on the first day? Here we are in Coober Pedy.... the Opal Capital of the World.

The Northern Territory...

Here's Huge at the border between South Australia and the Northern Territory. Huge and I joined Kim and Patrick, our American friends, to drive this lovely silver Outback through the outback...

Uluru (The Rock)

Massive...and changing colours in the sunset. It's everything one expects.

'nuff said?
